So I'm trying out this whole blogger thing for my sister... Just so we can read up on eachother and keep in contact!! So I guess I'll start by telling you whats been going on around these parts...
I'm not sure if you know any of this, but I'll just start from the beginning!!
So I had the baby on September 10th, at 8:43am. He was 7lbs, 8 1/2oz, and was 19 1/2 inches long. His name is Zayden William Solomon Ables. He's a strong healthy boy and had no problems what-so-ever. Shortly after getting home from the hospital I developed pneumonia and had to be hospitalized. Because of the surgery and being under anesthetics, I wasn't breathing deep enough and in result got pneumonia... great right? I, of course, refused to be admitted unless my 9 day old baby could stay with me. So I was kept in the Mother/baby unit while they monitored me from the ICU. During those three days I wasn't allowed to breast feed because of the radio-active junk they were pumping into me for tests... so Zayden quickly took to the bottle and never looked back :( That was super sad. During all of this, Jaykob and Tayannah started SECOND GRADE!!! Time has gone by so fast!
A month or two goes by, I decide to finally start school!! So I'm doing my pre-reqs right now. I work on the weekends at the movie theatre that I used to work at, so I can get some time away from kids, and some-what adult conversation. We all had a great holiday season, Zayden of course didn't know what was going on... but he had a great first Christmas. Jaykobs schooling has started to go WAY south, so we had to put him on ADHD medications. He seems to be doing better now, though he's also had to start special education classes... it breaks my heart, but it's the best for him. Annah is struggling a bit too, and we suspect that she's ADHD and going to need medicine as well. Things were going pretty well, without much hardships for a long while... until a few weeks ago.
Zayden all of the sudden started breathing harder, and was retracting his ribs when he breaths. I don't know if you know what that means, but it just means that his muscles were working harder than normal for him to breathe properly. So we take him into his pediatrician, his nurse reassures us that it's probably asthma, but she wants to get a chest x-ray done just incase it was a birth defect. When we got the results from his x-ray, it was showing that he had pneumonia... so he was put on medication straight away, and a high dose to get it taken care of before it got serious. A week goes by and there is no improvement in his breathing, so we go back to the nurse. She suspects it is asperation pneumonia because he has stomache problems and spits up all his formula, every kind of formula, unless it is EXTREMELY thickened with rice cereal. So she refers us to a gastrologist, and tells us there's nothing we can do about the pneumonia and it will clear itself over time. There's nothing to worry about.
So we go to this gastrologist, she orders an epper GI scan to make sure the food is going through his bowels properly, and then orders a swallow study to see if he was really asperating. During this time, he starts coughing, and getting a stuffy nose and such. But the nurse still tells us that it will pass and it's just a little cold ontop of his asperation pneumonia. Two fridays ago we took him to get his Epper GI test done, everything looked fine, nothing looked out of place... great news!! Well Saturday comes, and he starts to wheeze, and cough more, and retracting more... so we took him into the emergency room at the childrens hospital. Come to find out that he has R.S.V. Which is Repitory Synicial Virus... not a big deal to us adults, or older children, it just passes by as a really nasty cold. But to infants, it can be fatal. So the ER doc says that his oxygen is fine for now and there's no medicine we can give him because it's a virus, all we can do is go home, sit it out and hope that this is the worst of it and it'll pass. Well, it wasn't the worst of it. He woke up SCREAMING, Monday morning at 5am... which he never does, he's the happiest baby in the whole wide world, you wouldn't even know he was sick looking at him, he's always got a smile on his face!! So mom comes running into the room, I'm standing above him, he was sleeping... so he was screaming in his sleep... we sat there and watched him for a few minutes, and he was grunting, and panting like he couldn't catch his breath. We run him into the ER at the childrens hospital, and they automatically admit him into the hospital. We spent three days at that hospital, getting breathing treatments, being watched carefully by nurses and doctors, hooked up to monitors, getting his nose suctioned out... oh it was so horrible. And as if my own child bound to a hospital bed wasn't bad enough, RSV was going around so bad that the whole dang hospital was full of babies with the same thing. All we could do was wait, watch and pray for him. I know every prayer counted, because on the third day he was showing such great improvement that they sent us home. He's now doing much better, he has a bit of a snotty nose still... but his breathing is normal and he is out of danger. Thank the lord for such a blessing, and I thank him everyday that he spared my child.
During this whole ordeal I tried to contact his father, and his fathers family. I didn't get one phone call, or one response from anyone. It made me realize where our place is with his father and his family. His father has never seen him, or asked about him... he's now 5 1/2 months old. But you know, everything happens for a reason. Maybe him not being around is for the best.
OHHHH!!! On the lighter side of things... we're going to disneyland!!! We'll be there March 29th through April 4th, and then we'll be over in Vegas for two days. Danika is coming with Larissa, Mom, Twins, Baby, and I will all be there! We'll be close to you and maybe in those two days we can get together! We all miss you sooo much! Anyway, I think this blog is long enough... though it's pretty much just an email to my sister... but oh well! It's a way I can commuicate and keep in touch with my family :D

Oh! I'm so excited you started a blog!!!! You can post pictures and lots of fun stuff. You ROCK! You're the only one who did this.
My heart just sunk when you talked of all the health problems your famioy has gone htorugh. Emmalese had RSV when she was just a few weeks old and was nearly hospitalized hersrlf, thankfully she wasn't. But I know your pain and the hearache you must of felt as you watched helplessly your little one.
I can't wait to see you guys! We will be going through Vegas the week before you guys are there on our way up to Utah for a visit with Warrens family. I would love to meet you guys at Disneyland but that would take a lot of talking Warren into it and I don't think we could afford it. Sad day. But we can meet you in Vegas in we have to, to see you all again!
Happy blogging and I can't wait to check back often to read up on you.
Don't forget to come on over to my blog and leave comments too.
{Now you just need to talk all the others into this! hehe}
